Abstract

From the results of student knowledge, the daily test of class VI SDN 4 Babahrot is still very low. This can be seen from the results of student tests on Indonesian language learning news material that scores above the KKM about 15% while 39% is in accordance with the KKM, and the remaining 46% is still below the KKM. To improve the Indonesian language learning process, the researcher will conduct classroom action research by applying a scientific approach through cooperative learning strategies. A scientific approach can enable students to actively participate in every Indonesian language learning activity in news material. The purpose of this research is to improve learning outcomes and student learning activities in learning Indonesian. The subjects in this study were sixth grade students of SDN 4 Babahrot in the 2019/2020 school year with a total of 27 students. The research used is classroom action research, which consists of two cycles. Data collection uses test and non-test techniques. The results showed that (1) the average value of students in cycle I was 70.18 with 5 students who did not complete; (2) the average value of students in cycle 2 was 83.00 with all students or 100 % finished studying
